Three main goals

Audiences learn in three ways 

  1. Seeing
  2. Hearing
  3. Doing
PowerPoint is good at displaying

  1. Text
  2. Charts and Graphs
  3. Photos
  4. Audio/Video
 Good Presentation

  1. Slides Simple and easy to read
  2. State your purpose
  3. Add images to support
  4. Use friendly voice and relax
  5. Don't read off the power point to the Audience
Use appropriate color choices 

  1. Light background and dark text
  2. Dark background with light text  
Limit amount of text on slide
  • Seven, seven rule(Seven bullets and seven words in each)
Peripherals
  • Keyboard
  • Mice
  • Game controllers
Organization
  • State purpose 
  • Present the Information in multiple ways
  • End with summary
Cluttering
  • Avoid slide clutter
  • Don't use to many colors
Relax and be Friendly
  • Add info and examples in your own words
  • Allow time for notes
  • Answer Audience questions
  • Practice your presentation

POIT Lesson 6 Peripherals


  • peripherals: used for input and output  information  
  • Mouse I:optical & laser mouse 
  •  keyboard I
  •  printer O: have multi function printers O, scanners I and Inkjet O
  •  flash drive IO
  •  monitor O: LCD and CRT monitors can be input if it is touch screen
  • High Definition contains more pixels   
  • Drives floppy drive, CD ROM drive, DVD drive, Blue ray drive 
  • Hard drive & USB drive can be external 
  • Towers have expansion slots that can be interchanged with different componenets
  • Peripherals needed: keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, Printer, Scanner, Storage drives, Game controller/joysticks
