Jobs Shadow
My Job shadowing experience was very informative in the day of a teacher. I Job Shadowed my 8th grade teacher, Mrs. Locher the day started with her watching the kids in the hallway as they unpacked and got there stuff ready for the rest of the day, Then was there period of CAT which is specific to Apex Middle this is a time that the kids get to pick which class they want to go to and finish any unfinished work at that time this lasted 30 minutes and Mrs. Locher simply walked around giving any child that needed help, help when the period was over the kids went to their elective classes such as spanish and PE, During this time me and Mrs. Locher went down to the 6th grade hallway because she had to cover for a teacher until a substitute came in so we went down to the hallway and covered. When the Sub finally came we went back to the 8th grade hallway and went directly into a Science teacher's meeting where they discussed topics such as the kids midterm and what they will do for the few days before the inter break this was in my eyes very boring but I could tell that if these did not happen occasionally then the students experiences and education wold decrease, When this ended it was finally time to actually go to class and teach the kids since we went to cover and the meetings those kids have been in electives for almost two hours. We in science class which was one of the classes that she taught the kids did a lab where they observed chemical reactions between hydrogen peroxide and Chicken liver this made it bubble and fizzle over onto the table for some of the groups which caused some commotion like people screaming she had two of these classes back to back which lasted for exactly two hours then the kids got dismissed for lunch and was told to go with them because Mrs. locher had the lunch detention kids and it would be boring so I followed some of the kids I knew from last year and ate lunch at the cafeteria lunch lasted 23 minutes and when we came back Mrs. Locher was now teaching Math for the last two hours these two hours she taught about how to put data in the calculators and how to solve some problems with them also. at the end of the day I said goodbye and left in my moms car.

First nine weeks
What is your impression of the first 9-weeks of high school?
In high school you have a lot more freedom such as a teacher is not always breathing down your neck you also have more work, And the longer lunch is amazing because of you get more time to calm down and chill.
What has been difficult about the transition from middle school?
The most difficult transition is the workload, longer classes, and having to wake up earlier.
What has been easy about the transition?
The most easy part was the excessive amount of freedom, longer lunches, and diverse array of students.
What have you learned about yourself
I learned that if I prepare and study I will get a good grade if not I will get a average or not so good grade. In middle school I didn't study and still got good grades
